SUPPORTING TCKs: A List of Resources
We’re entering a fresh school year, and even if you’re not a parent yourself, you likely have kids on your team or in your circle of influence who are navigating new schools, new classmates, new languages, new extra-curricular activities in new places… The start to a new school year, particularly for Third-Culture Kids (TCKs), can bring so many different adjustments. Even if it appears that their world is the same because they haven’t moved since the last school semester, it’s likely that some friends have come and gone, that they will face cultural mishaps, and a myriad of other challenges.
This month, we wanted to pull some resources for you to help better support the TCKs in your life – no matter what this year is bringing them! We hope these varied articles, videos, webinars, and recommended books can provide some fresh insights and remind you to pay special attention to the kids you know and love now.
While we at Olive Tree won’t be opening our doors in Budapest until the beginning of 2025, we do have a list of counseling centers and private practitioners we are happy to share with you in the meantime. Don’t hesitate to reach out if your TCK (or yourself) could use some extra support in this season!
