"Having spent many years as a youth pastor in an area where counseling was lacking but desperately needed, I love that I now get to be a part of coming alongside adolescents, families, and individuals in times of intense crisis and routine debriefing and everything in between. It is an honor to hold people's stories and help them process and heal from their experiences in order to thrive and not just survive life overseas."
Amber is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and is also trained in EMDR for trauma processing. She has experience with adolescents, families, and adults in various contexts including as a counselor at an adolescent residential facility, providing pre-field assessment and training for those preparing to move overseas, and debriefing for families, couples, and singles while on furlough. Amber is skilled in working with issues of adoption, attachment, self-harm, suicidality, eating disorders, family conflict, struggles with sexual identity and other sexual struggles, depression, and those with a history of trauma and abuse.
Before getting her degree in counseling Amber spent 8 years living in China as a youth minister working with families from over 20 cultural backgrounds, and through this developed a passion for serving and investing in workers around the world. Outside of the office you can find her drinking coffee, playing in the snow, exploring the great outdoors, or traveling to a new city or country.
