Roger Sandberg has Master’s degrees in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and Biblical Studies, and is licensed as a Professional Counselor and as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He has worked as a counselor in both private practice and community settings, doing marital and individual therapy with adults as well as work with older adolescents. He particularly enjoys working with those who are navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal relationship conflicts, grief and loss, and cross-cultural transitions.
Roger specializes in an individual counseling approach called Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), an experiential approach that emphasizes one’s God-given healing capacities, based on neuroscience, attachment, and emotion research. He also utilizes Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy for Couples (AEDPfC). He is also EMDR trained.
Roger has enjoyed doing cross-cultural ministry in various parts of the world, including Asia, Africa, Latin America, and North America. For relaxation he enjoys reading, walking in nature, sports, listening to music, and meaningful conversations with good friends.
